What is it with hounds and sleep?

A tigerDog is a well bred, highly developed athlete and like all athletes they enjoy sitting on the couch. Lying on the couch is more comfortable and lying on the couch on your back is heavenly, however we digress...

tigerDogs are actually bred to be sprinters. They are used to short bursts of activity which burns off a lot of energy. This activity is then followed by long, long, very long periods of rest in which they can recouperate. This period of time usually involves duvets or couches.

It is from the vantage point of your couch that the true tigerDog can "rest his eyes" and contemplate deep, meaningful things; diverse thoughts such "how many sheep can you count before you fall asleep"....
*The answer is seven by the way, well seven according to Jake. That's the most he's ever managed.
Sometimes he doesn't get past two. Pesky sheep. Zzzzzz.

It is worth noting that a tigerDog typically has two modes; on and off. For the majority of the time it is definitely off. As a guide, our tigerDogs require approximately 8 hours of sleep a day and around ten to twelve hours of sleep at night...
