Do greyhounds shed hair?
The answer? A resounding "that depends"...
Most information you will read will indicate that tigerDogs shed little hair and are therefore particularily good for people who suffer allergies to pet hair.
Well, in our experience it seems to vary a lot from dog to dog. It really depends on their hair type. Jake has a double coat. Long fine hair with a down type undercoat where as Luke has slightly coarser hair with no undercoat.
The difference between the boys is vivid. Jake shed's hair like it's going out of fashion, yet Luke hardly sheds at all. Both boys enjoy a regular brushing and this helps to strengthen the owner-dog bond as well as being enjoyable.
During the summer Jake tends to shed even more hair, so we have devised a patented brushing system, entitled Dyson it does exactly what it says on the tin... Yes, I vacuum him. Naturally I don't recommend this for your tigerDog but with a soft brush attachment and taking great care Jake will stand and be vacummed for upwards of half an hour at a time!
When it is really hot, both boys enjoy a cool shower and this helps to rid Jake of most of the loose hair. Luke just likes the shower and puts his tail in curlers afterwards...
Jake actually has an interesting sideline business involving bags of Limited Edition lucky white hair and discerning Collectors. Being able to spot a deal, Jake recently swapped "lucky" bag number 42,507 with Andrew Henderson of the TradingNothing web site for a collection of toys.
Such is Jakes fame that the trade even made it into the local paper! Yes. It was a slow news day...

Fame at last!... The Warrington Guardian.

The exceptionally well written [sic] article.
Slightly missed the "fun" point but oh well, fame is fame after all.
I am not sure that Andrew has spotted the error in the naming his site TradingNothing but this was one trade he won't forget in a hurry!
- Limited in so far as Jake has a finite quantity of hair at any one time.
- Maybe not as finite in quantity as one would wish though.
