Meet the tigerFriends.

In this section of the tigerFriends you will meet:

Eric.

This is Eric. He is a 15 month old red brindle tigerDog. Eric was rescued as a 12 week old puppy (aah!). His mum and dad were looking for an older female dog... One look into his eyes and they were hooked! A good case of addictis lurchuritus if ever we saw one.

Eric loves to play and is full of energy. He plays with the dogs he meets on countryside walks - although he was once headbutted by a sheep! He also likes gardening, he's helping his mum redesign the garden by digging lots of holes for her.

Eric shares a hobby with our own tigerDog Luke; he love pulling the eyes out of all types of fluffy toys. In addition to this he has also had the (dis)honour of winning the public vote of at their local towns naughiest puppy competition.

Fergus.

This is Fergus. He started life as a racing greyhound in Ireland and then he plyed his trade at the tracks in Catford (ironically) and Sunderland. He achieved A2 racing status which means he was rather good. If only they could see him now!....

Unfortunately after his brief racing career of only 3 years, he was abandoned. Luckily he was rescued by Greyhound Rescue West of England and was adopted by his new owners in early 2004.

Apparently Fergus has settled into his new "relaxed" lifestyle (understatement of the year) and is a local celebrity with the neighbourhood kids.

Holly.

This beautiful lady is Holly and she believes that she is the perfect tigerfriend because she is:
cute, well cuddly, pretty and lazy.

According to Jake's extremely stringent definitions of a tigerDog, Holly ticks all of the right boxes!

So this is the great outdoors?...
But my bed's on that side!

    Fetch? Fetch?...
You threw it. You "fetch" it!..

Honey.

Honey and her brothers Monty, Smokey and Winston wrote to us in September 2006.

Honey takes up the story.

I am very definitely a tigerDog as my mum thinks I am part cheetah. I am a very special girl who was living as a stray for months and months. I didn't want to be caught as I was quite happy living on my straw bales by the river, but when I got to my new house I changed my mind (after weeing on the door mat to make it feel like home).

My best friend is Smokey and when I'm not draped over the cusions I like to wind him up by bitting the back of his neck. I can run like the wind and jump over the sofa with no effort. I like sunbathing almost as much as I like running. Unusually I'm not that bothered about food. Even when I was a stray I didn't eat all the food put out for me, hence my super-model thinness.

I love my 3 house mates, Monty, Smokey and Winston so much that I don't even growl if they sit on me.

Honey #2.

Honey was rescued by Dumfriesshire & Cumbria Greyhound Rescue but she was born in Ireland in April 2002. Her race name was "Parkstown Dream" and she had 25 races in Ireland and in Newcastle, although she led in most of her races she slowed down for her friends to catch up and got pipped at the post too often!...

Honey has one of the fastest adoptions we have heard! She spent one night with a foster carer before being taken to the Dumfriesshire & Cumbria Rescue Kennel. Honey met her new Mum at 11am the following day, who fell head over heals in love with her. As all of her vet checks had been performed the rehoming officer was contaced and he gave the ok. Honey was taken to her Forever Home at 4pm that same day.

Unlike the typical tigerDog, Honey dosen't know what toys are or what to do with them so her Mum often end up on the floor throwing fluffy squeeky things in the air trying to make it look like fun.... Hopefully Honey will get the idea soon!

The final word in this story is from Honeys Mum. "We have definately caught the greyhound bug and hope to get a companion for Honey before the end of the year.". See. addictis tigerdoggus. Well, we did warn you....
