In Memory
Our tigerFriends waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.
It is a sad fact of life that we, as humans, expect to out live our tigerDogs. This section is dedicated to their memory.
See you all again at the Rainbow Bridge.
In loving memory of our beautiful tigerDog - Billy.
We don't really know what to write other than Billy was our gorgeous stripey boy and we desperately miss him but we feel so honoured that we were able to rescue him and give him the very best home for the last two years of his life.
Daisy is being comforted by Poppy who we took in from a friend in December (she thinks she is a Greyhound but we don't have the heart to tell her otherwise) and Poppy also misses her big brother and wishes he was here.

In loving memory of our beautiful tigerDog - Bob.
Although you were only with us for 12 months, we had lots of fun and happiness. Not so happy chasing you around the park or when you caught next doors cat! We will always look back and laugh.
You brightened up our days and became our special friend. You were the most handsome greyhound, our beautiful brindly Bob, our sneaky old snakey.
We will always love you and miss you.
In loving memory of our beautiful tigerDogs - Henny and Rosie.
Henny and Rosie were the first tigerFriends of our beloved Zack. Sadly both girls recently passed and I asked their owners Mik and Gill if they wanted to write the eulogy. It is a very moving and emotional text and is reproduced below in full.
It's over a year since Rosie died, it has taken so much time to get over her loss and in between losing our second hand Rose, we had the unexpected loss of our Gorgeous girl Henny, this was such a shock and as a Greyhound loving couple, to lose both your girls in such a short time, 6 months apart, was a tremendous blow.
I was kindly asked to write a small piece about our Girls, Henny died just before Xmas 2007, so that’s how long its taken me to get his far. All that aside it would be wrong of me not to do something, and as this Fantastic site along with GRWE, finally convinced us to adopt Rosie and eventually Henny, I feel it’s the least I can do. Probably the hardest thing to do is write a small piece about our girls who were such a big part of our life.
Our Dear Rosie, Rosie dozy, Second hand Rose, Our Beautiful Brindle "Tiger Dog"
The biggest Greyhound learning curve a Greyhound owner could ever have, scared of everything in her big new world, but with love and guidance from us both you became the most chilled loving girl. It took a while but everyday was worth it, one of the turning points was when you finally accepted that a Jack Russell was not your enemy and gave up your bed for her finally laying down beside her on the floor. The way you just let Henny come into your life and although you had your moments became the greatest of Greyhound buddies, she missed you so much when you finally went.
We miss your antics, your gentle nature, which we always knew you had, we miss all the room on the couch you took up and adopted as your bed. The way you home checked with us to show even the biggest doubters that Greyhounds even with the wildest of backgrounds could become a loving and caring companion.
We miss you more than words can say; you battled bravely against an ailment that was inflicted upon you, but we both knew in the end it was a battle that could not be won, it was only fair to let you go.

Our Dear Henny, Her Royal Houndness Hennrietta, Our gorgeous Girl, Henny Ben,
The most pretty of Greyhounds with a Royal Deposition, you were loved by all who knew you, and when not getting the attention you deserved made sure you got it!!
The greyhound although she was nearly 8 when we got her, thought she was always 2 years old and acted accordingly when not in company. (It was a Royal thing you know). Always drawing admiring comments from passers by on how pretty you looked along with your pal Rose, the wagging of your tail and the way your raised your nose in the air you seemed to say, “ yes tell me something I don’t know” With Rose you made the perfect pair and loved each other to bits, we thought we had seen all of you there was to see, but when Rose left us another character came out.
To have to lose you so soon after Rose was the biggest blow, such a cruel thing to happen to a dog with so much love to give, you didn’t deserve such an end to your life. You are missed so much, without you and Rose our lives are not the same and probably never will be, to know you both was a life changing experience which we would not have changed in anyway shape or form. Rest easy Our Girls , “on yer beds, go on yer beds, lay down ,Good Girls”
While writing this many a good memory came to mind, and also many a tear was shed, I had read many books about Greyhounds and owners and one thing I have learnt is with Greyhounds, anything is possible. The love and guidance and effort you put into making your Greyhounds life better will be repaid tenfold, some days it will seem an uphill struggle,(as with Rose), but was it worth it ? God yes, every minute would I do it again? In an instant!

Only the best for Her Royal Houndness!..
To have them touch our lives for how ever short that time was, we consider an honour. It seems like we had them in our lives forever, but for us forever was not long enough.

Zack.
History started here. THE first tigerDog. Our tigerDog.....
Zack was our boy. We adopted Zack in March 2002. His age and background was unknown. Not a problem to us, we just wanted to give a greyhound/lurcher a second chance in life.
From day one, Zack was a firmly rooted member of the family and was loved by all. We could not go for a walk without people talking to us about him and (of course) patting and fussing him.
He hated it. Not...
It was on one such walk that a small child pointed to him and said to its mother, "Look mummy, a tigerDog." We laughed and then thought what a cool name. So now you know where tigerDog came from.
We had two and a half glorious years with Zack before he was sadly taken from us. It seems like we had him forever and at the same time not for long enough.
The highest tribute we can give Zack is that we have adopted another two greyhounds, Jake and Luke, who will proudly carry the tigerDog banner and continue to enlighten our lives.
