In Memory

Our tigerFriends waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

It is a sad fact of life that we, as humans, expect to out live our tigerDogs. This section is dedicated to their memory.

See you all again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Billy.

We first heard from Billy and his sister Daisy in September 2005. Billy had been adopted in Feb 2004 and in true addictis tigerdoggus style, his sister Daisy joined the pack in September of that year!

Sadly in May 2006 Billy passed away. His owners have asked to include their own eulogy to this site, which is printed below

In loving memory of our beautiful tigerDog - Billy.

We don't really know what to write other than Billy was our gorgeous stripey boy and we desperately miss him but we feel so honoured that we were able to rescue him and give him the very best home for the last two years of his life.

Daisy is being comforted by Poppy who we took in from a friend in December (she thinks she is a Greyhound but we don't have the heart to tell her otherwise) and Poppy also misses her big brother and wishes he was here.

Bob.

We first heard from Bob in early March 2005, he wanted to be a tigerDog friend. He sent us a photo and told us about himself.

Bob was quite poorly at the time and sadly passed away before we received more photos. His owners have asked to include Bob as a tigerDog friend, with their own eulogy which is printed below.

Updated - Good News!

Following their very sad loss, Bob's parents have recently adopted two new tigerDogs. They are Joe and Bracken. Naturally they are both tigerFriends.

In loving memory of our beautiful tigerDog - Bob.

Although you were only with us for 12 months, we had lots of fun and happiness. Not so happy chasing you around the park or when you caught next doors cat! We will always look back and laugh.

You brightened up our days and became our special friend. You were the most handsome greyhound, our beautiful brindly Bob, our sneaky old snakey.

We will always love you and miss you.

Henny.

This is Henny, also known by her un-official title of 'Her Royal Houndness Hennrieta'

Henny lives with Rosie and they get on together really well, but as with all relationships they do have their moments... Henny is as fussy as they come, but sits and begs for chicken biscuits, takes her medicine from hand like she's eating smarties and she actually loves walking, well after a good sleep (as all good tigerDogs do.)

Only the best for Her Royal Houndness!..

Updates.

Henny seems to be more of an early morning dog than Rosie and always wants to go out for a walk as soon as the light cracks over the horizon, which is OK for her as she can sleep all day after this!

However her Mum and Dad pray that when the nights and mornings draw in over winter she is fooled into thinking "oh its still night time moment, I don't need to get up yet" so at least they can stay in bed until a reasonable hour!

    Rosie, you look so comfy!
You could share my bed, but...

Rosie.

Rosie is eight years old and was adopted from Greyhound Rescue West of England. Yes, GRWE.... And we ALL know what they're like!....

Rosie is now a fixture and fitting of the house and is definately a true tigerDog. She lists her hobbies as chilling out with friends, taking light naps and sleeping!

Rosies new owners lay the blame of her adoption firmly at the feet of the tigerDog web site! They saw Zack and their mind was made up, "we're having a tigerDog".

Sadly, after getting Rosie, her owners sucummed to a particularly virulant strain of addictis tigerdoggus and have adopted another tigerDog named Henny. Shame....

Zack.

History started here. THE first tigerDog. Our tigerDog.....

Zack was our boy. We adopted Zack in March 2002. His age and background was unknown. Not a problem to us, we just wanted to give a greyhound/lurcher a second chance in life.

From day one, Zack was a firmly rooted member of the family and was loved by all. We could not go for a walk without people talking to us about him and (of course) patting and fussing him.
He hated it. Not...

It was on one such walk that a small child pointed to him and said to its mother, "Look mummy, a tigerDog." We laughed and then thought what a cool name. So now you know where tigerDog came from.

We had two and a half glorious years with Zack before he was sadly taken from us. It seems like we had him forever and at the same time not for long enough.

The highest tribute we can give Zack is that we have adopted another two greyhounds, Jake and Luke, who will proudly carry the tigerDog banner and continue to enlighten our lives.
